Basic skin routine for oily and dry skins
- Cleansing
No matter the skin type and the time of the day, cleansing your skin is essential and it’s the first step in ensuring that your skin is well taken care of, most importantly your facial skin. Cleansing, be it in the morning or night time is critical as it ensures the dirt, sweat and impurities that have built up on your skin are removed. Cleansing is as basic as washing your face with warm and a mild cleanser such as soap that is not too harsh on your skin.
- Moisturize
After cleansing your face, it is essential that you apply a moisturizer as it goes a long way in preserving your skin be it at night or during the day. The kind of moisturizer that you use should be calm and soothing to your skin.
- Exfoliation
This is the process of removing dead skin from your face and this is important no matter the skin type. Medically, this should not be done on a daily basis and it’s recommended that it’s done twice a week so as to preserve the skin. This is a simple method that one can undertake at home as it involves a simple facial scrub that will ensure that you get a smooth face all week long.
- Sun Screen
Depending on your daily activities, it is vital that you protect the skin from harmful sun rays and ultra violet light. Often we find ourselves exposed to the sun and as we age, there is need to protect our skin from the strong sun rays as the skin becomes weaker as we age.
